Letter from the Rector
In May 2026, 13 seniors from Christ the King graduated from high school. Four of those seniors were baptized at this church many years ago. The growth of our church parallels the growth of those graduates. We started small. We took baby steps. We hit growth spurts. We developed an identity. We faced challenges. We matured.
Now we, like those graduating high school seniors, are ready to take our next step. I believe our next step is the development of this property, which we are so grateful to have, into a place that serves our growing church, provides for generations to come, and inspires us to say, “How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts” (Psalm 84:1).
God has used this little corner on North Quaker Lane for his good purposes. I believe He will continue to do so for many years to come. There will be other baptisms, other graduations, weddings, funerals, and all the rest. With gratitude for what God has done in the past, and in anticipation of what He will do in the future, let’s take this next step together.
With gratitude,
The Rev’d Dr. David Glade, Rector
Letter from the Co-Chairs
As long-time members of Christ the King, the four of us have each seen God work in our lives through this church. By God’s grace, our children have grown up here. At every step in the life of Christ the King, we have witnessed events that could only have been orchestrated by Him. We’ve watched Him establish good works in the lives of the people who have been in this place.
We’re excited to launch this campaign because we know and pray that God has great things in store for His church. We invite you to prayerfully consider how you, too, might join Him in His future work in the days ahead!

Letter from the Vestry
In the Anglican Church, the Vestry is the elected lay leadership council of a parish, and it is led by the senior and junior wardens. In 2026, the Vestry voted to reenergize the 84:1 campaign and we are very excited to see the progress so far! The Vestry views the renovation as important for carrying out our church’s mission of exalting Christ in worship, growing as family, and making Christ known in our community.
We are encouraged by initial signs that we are within striking distance of raising $4 million for Phase 1 of our church’s renovation plan. However, we have not yet reached our goal and we need your help. We encourage all members of our church to prayerfully consider our church’s mission and to give generously to the campaign.
Blessings to you!
Karen Haynes, Senior Warden
Tim Heath, Junior Warden
Imagine a Building that Aligns with our Mission
Our building and grounds should serve our mission, not define it. After more than 13 years of renting and four years of owning, we understand both the blessings and limitations of our property. Surveys and input sessions confirmed three priorities:
➤ Beauty that enhances worship: Renewed layout, finishes, furnishings, pews, kneelers, and chancel design to support Anglican worship in a beautiful, functional sanctuary.
➤ Hospitality that fosters connection: A welcoming “front porch,” larger fellowship space, flexible rooms, updated rooms for children’s ministry, and kitchen.
➤ Accessibility that invites belonging: Adequate, accessible restrooms, and expanded, improved entry/narthex.
Frequently Asked Questions

We envision our church warmly welcoming the community. As we grow numerically and refine our two distinct Sunday services, we plan to eventually plant another church. Architectural plans reflect this vision, keeping with neighborhood scale and mid-century design, and the site plan embraces gathering space that opens to the neighborhood.
-
We purchased the property in 2022, aware of its constraints, yet confident of God’s provision. The church was built with support spaces (kitchen, classrooms, offices, storage, and restrooms) housed across the street, which we previously rented. That space is not ideal, and Convergence has no intentions to sell. Not wanting to increase paved parking on our site, zoning limits allowable sanctuary seats based on parking. Adjacent green space provides a buffer from neighbors, and opportunity for creative gathering space. The new construction will provide a buffer from busy North Quaker Lane for our front lawn.
-
Several factors guided priorities, including: accommodating past growth; supporting discipleship and outreach ministries; construction phasing recommended by architects; and feasibility recommended by our fundraising consultant. Phase 1 expansion gives accessible restrooms, gathering space, and flexible spaces for meetings and offices. The chapel will provide a sacred space for prayer and formation. As part of Phase 1, we hope to make minor improvements to existing classrooms and bathrooms prior to Phase 2. Our sanctuary is functional for worship, and Phase 2 will result in a more lovely and Anglican worship experience.

The Building & Grounds Committee (including an architect, an interior designer, and a landscape architect) sought significant congregational input as they began master planning in 2022. Plans were refined during schematic design in 2025. The site plan allows for a buffer and signage on North Quaker Lane, and a chapel that serves as a landmark. The site prioritizes green space open to the neighborhood, with tiered lawn seating and patio space for events. Pathways welcome people to a Narthex doubled in size, with additional accessible multi-stall bathrooms, a hospitality kitchen, and storage space for events. Phase 1 adds needed class, prayer, and office space, and enables Phase 2 flexibility (e.g. reducing sanctuary offices to accommodate more seating). Feedback is welcome as we move forward with architectural plans.

Phasing allows for reduced ministry disruptions, responsible stewardship of long-term debt, and initial mechanical system upgrades. We launch the three-year 84:1 Fund campaign in fall 2026, and celebrate total fundraising commitments in spring 2027, which will enable Phase 1 construction. City approval process and architectural design will be re-engaged in early 2027, and we hope to finalize construction documents by fall 2027. Dependent on pledges and funds received, we hope to break ground on Phase 1 in spring 2028. Phase 2 fundraising and design will be engaged in the future, though additional renovations may be considered if fundraising significantly exceeds goals.

In spring 2026, the Vestry hired Horizons Stewardship to conduct a readiness and feasibility study. With church input and trust in God’s provision, the Vestry is confident in our ability to raise funds for Phase 1 during a three-year campaign. The Vestry will determine best ways to steward long-term debt, and set financial benchmarks related to design development and construction. We are grateful for gifts already given and committed, and for your future considerations. See page 18 for ways to give. Our church is financially healthy, and we anticipate generous participation in this campaign beyond annual budget giving. The Vestry stewards all money given, along with the annual budget and future expanded operational expenses.
Invitation to Prayer
We are inviting you to a season of prayer as we embark on a mission to improve our dwelling place. As you know, prayer is a unique way that God invites us to talk with him, to deepen our knowledge of him, to give him our concerns, to lay our plans before him, and to seek his will. There will be many decisions to make in the coming months about expanding our place of worship and improving it for future generations. If we pray for God to direct our mission, and provide for the changes that he desires, we can be assured that he will answer. Join us each day in prayer for Christ the King. We have listed a prayer for each day of the week to help you begin. The prayer team at CTK is also honored to pray for you should you need prayer.
