We want our church to offer a healthy youth ministry where teenagers can thrive.

The best way to measure the health of a youth ministry is to see how well it is engaging in each of the five purposes of the church: worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry. Our programs are planned around these five purposes.

Crew: worship & fellowship – Our flagship program meets on Sunday nights from 7:00-8:30 p.m. to play crazy games, sing praise music, and eat delicious food. There are three locations:
  • Del Ray United Methodist Church. JV and Varsity gather together for fun and dessert, then separate for small groups.
  • The Tracy (JV) and Hartman (Varsity) residences. JV and Varsity separate.
  • Event locations. JV and Varsity together.

The Loft: discipleship – Varsity and JV separate. On Sunday mornings, after we worship together as families, adults and youth part ways for education. Make sure you stay for one of our excellent Adult Ed classes, and send your children to the Loft to dig into God’s Word.

Serve Second Saturdays: ministry – Varsity and JV together. To help us know that Christians are servants, not consumers, we’ve set aside one Saturday morning each month to shop for, prepare, and serve food to homeless people.

Events: evangelism – Varsity and JV together. We encourage teens to invite their friends to everything, but several times a year we have Saturday outings that are particularly exciting.

Fall Retreat: discipleship - Every September we spend a weekend at NorthBay Adventure Camp.

Summer Mission Trip: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry & evangelism - Every summer we travel to Pawleys Island, SC to share God’s love with an impoverished African-American community by rebuilding homes and hosting a VBS for area children.
