PASTOR: THE REV. DAVID WALKER GLADE
David is the founding pastor of Christ the King. He and his wife, Jennifer, have six children. David received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his Masters of Divinity at Trinity School for Ministry. David was ordained to the presbytery on January 27, 2005 by Archbishop Robert Duncan and was installed as the rector of Christ the King on November 21, 2008. Before planting Christ the King, David served on the pastoral staff of The Falls Church.
DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND WORSHIP: VELL RIVES
Vell received his B.A. in music and his M.D. from the University of Alabama and practiced psychiatry before joining the CtK staff full-time. He sings bass in the Alexandria Choral Society. Vell, his wife Carmen, and their two children live in Arlington and never tire of visiting DC's museums and sights.
DIRECTOR OF WOMEN'S MINISTRY: KATHERINE DOSTER
Katherine received her Master’s degree in Christian education from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA, and her B.A. degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She worked four years for the C.S. Lewis Institute as female mentor and public liaison before founding her own ministry, Rivendell House. She has mentored women in Washington for twenty-one years and now also provides spiritual direction. Since 2005, she has served The Navigators on the Shepherd's Network National Leadership Team and has provided relational healing for missionaries. She serves part-time with Navs and runs Rivendell House as she serves part-time at Christ the King.
DIRECTOR OF FAMILY MINISTRIES: MATT WATERS
Matt has over 20 years experience serving non-profit organizations and Christian ministries in a variety of roles, including Executive Director and Vice President of Public Education and Development. Matt and his wife Annie Marie ran the C.S. Lewis Institute discipleship program and served as mentors for young adults at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. Matt also taught with Campus Crusade for Christ in Minsk, Belarus. Currently, he serves as Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 131, and is a card-carrying member of the Gideons. He received his bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and is pursuing his Masters in Religion at Reformed Theological Seminary. Matt, Annie, and their five homeschooled children live in Alexandria.
DIRECTOR OF ADULT EDUCATION: JOSEPH HARTMAN
Joe is the 2013-14 Pastoral Fellow and Director of Adult Education at Christ the King. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia, his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in government at Georgetown University. Joe and his wife Melanie live in Arlington.
FINANCIAL MANAGER: KATIE KETCHUM
Katie grew up in Hawaii where she received her undergraduate degrees in accounting and business. Immediately following, she attended Cameron University where she completed a masters degree in business with an emphasis in accounting and finance. Katie has wanted to be an accountant since before she was old enough to know how to spell the word and has had a plethora of clients in the non-profit, private, and public arenas. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Brett, two-year-old son Blaik, and two miniature dachshunds. Other interests include running, teaching piano lessons, and hostessing dinner parties for her friends.
PARISH ADMINISTRATOR: LYNN BRUNING
Lynn received her B.A. and M.S.E. in English from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. Though she did much of her growing up in the South, she moved to the Washington, DC area from Colorado. Lynn worked for many years in bakery and coffeehouse management and still delights in espresso and baked goods. She has also been a college composition teacher and university writing counselor. Lynn and her husband Isaac Live in Silver Spring, Maryland, where they enjoy living close to family and playing with their dog Lazarus.
