CtK Crew's goal is to provide a healthy youth ministry where teenagers can thrive.
The best way to measure the health of a youth ministry is to see how well it is engaging in each of the five purposes of the church: worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry. Our programs are planned around these five purposes.
Crew: worship & fellowship – Our flagship program meets on Sunday nights from 7:00-8:45 p.m. We gather either at the site of CtK’s offices (Del Ray United Methodist Church), the home of David and Lisa Tracy, or event locations.
The Loft: discipleship – On Sunday mornings, after we worship together as families, adults and youth part ways for education. During the fall season of The Loft we’ll be looking at the fruits of the Spirit and talking about the attitude, awareness, and accountability necessary for godly character.
Serve Second Saturdays: ministry – To help us know that Christians are servants, not consumers, we’ve set aside one Saturday morning a month to shop for, prepare, and serve food to homeless people.
Celebration: evangelism – We encourage teens to invite their friends to everything, but a few times a year we have Saturday events planned that are especially unmissable.
The most exciting part of the year will not be any of these programs, however, but our Summer Mission Trip to Pawley's Island, SC, June 24-30. You can learn about the organization leading our trip at www.leadertreks.org. To register, return the form found here along with a $100 deposit (make checks out to "Christ the King") to: Christ the King, 100 E. Windsor Ave, Alexandria VA 22301.
