Join CtK for VBS on August 1-4! This year children age 3-rising 8th grade will learn that God is our refuge and strength. God promises to be our rock and our salvation—our fortress and sure defense. So raise your banner! In Jesus, the victory is won! Register here or contact Caroline Baldwin for more information.
Children’s Ministry at Christ the King serves children age 0–5th grade and their families. Children are welcomed, valued, protected, and lovingly cared for while they learn who Jesus is, how to follow Him, and how the truths of the Bible can help them to make Godly choices. Please visit the Children’s Ministry Welcome Area on Sunday morning to meet some of our staff and volunteers and to sign in your children.
Nursery and Toddler Care Nursery and toddler care is provided during the 8:30 (0–PreK) and 10:00 (0-3 years) Sunday services. Childcare rooms are located along the hallway on the side of the main church building. Rooms open 15 minutes prior to each service and remain open until 15 minutes after Education & Formation classes end. Our Nursery cares for children 0-24 months, while 2-3 year olds are cared for in the Toddler Room. These rooms are staffed and supervised by a combination of paid staff and volunteers. Children enjoy play, age-appropriate stories, and songs throughout the morning.
Children’s Church Children age 4-2nd grade begin in the service with their parents and are dismissed for Children’s Church before the sermon. In Children’s Church, we prepare the children for worship in “big church” by mirroring what goes on in the service – all the while keeping it fun! Children will sing, pray, learn, and play with their friends.
Education & Formation Following the worship service on Sunday mornings, age-specific classes are offered for all children to provide further reflection and discussion of God's Word. The following children's Education & Formation classes are held on the second floor of the Lab Building.
Preschool (ages 3-5)
Children's Choir Children preschool through second grade rehearse on Sunday mornings as a part of weekly children's church and sing in the worship service 3-4 times a year.
Youth Choir The youth choir, for grades 3 through 9, rehearses seasonally and sings in the worship service 3-4 times a year. Upcoming rehearsals begin Monday, February 27 from 6:00-6:50 p.m.
Both choirs will sing at the Palm Sunday service on April 9.
Child Safety We take our children’s safety very seriously. We expect volunteers to be a part of the Christ the King community for at least 6 months before we schedule them for volunteer service in our children's programs. Additionally, all of our volunteers are required to complete a background check and attend our child safety training. Our Five Steps for Keeping Children Safe will give you a greater description of what we do to ensure our children's safety.
